Wavemakers, hello!!

This Community started to form in my mind very early on in the Start the Wave journey. 

This is the dream. To connect wavemakers, like yourself, to other amazing humans that are also invested in creating sustainable, impactful and positive change. 

Through this hub, we will be able to learn from each other’s expertise, exchange knowlege, and infuse it into our action on the ground. We can take inspiration, reciprocate support, and collaborate around common passions and projects.

You will see we chose our 5 menu tabs to be Home, Water, Earth, Air & Fire. 

Our menu serves to remind us of the powerful medicine and lessons each element holds, as we respect, honour and come into right relationship with our Home. 

May the words of the Assembly of First Nations remind us of the world we are nurturing. 

By coming together in this way we are utilizing the internet to create a web of change - Connecting the circles from around the world that are planting seeds for an improved future, and building upon each others efforts towards collective liberation. 

Here we can connect with likeminded folx, those that have similar visions and areas of service; as well as people who have a different lived experience and may challenge or inspire us to consider other perspectives. 

In a safe and supportive space we can share the hurdles we’ve come up against, offer resources that could be helpful, spread and support other missions that excite us, cross pollinate, collaborate, set up zoom circles, share events, fundraise and so much more… 

I could go on for hours talking about the potential of this platform! My hope is that you feel called to explore and utilize this space, in all its many capacities, at your own individual flow. Create meaningful connections, expand, and elevate the essential work of welcoming in a more just, equitable, sustainable and vibrant tomorrow.

Now, before you head out to browse the community’s various rooms, please head over to the Community Values, under the FIRE tab. There you will find the list of principles that we aspire to live by in the Start the Wave Community. 

It’s important that our values are aligned, and therefore practiced. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any suggestions, amendments or inspiration to make them feel like the home you’d like to live in.
